Logo Design and Layout Stages

This image was what I considered to be my best idea when working on this assignment.  I had many trails of different ideas and designs, but this design in particular was my favorite.  I started off with the K and the B being separate from each other.  Gradually, the letters began to come together as one to form more of a Gestalt-like image.

In this image, I created an illusion of lips.  This image was my final image which I turned into Dropbox and printed out.  I love the gestalt that this image shows.  The white letters bleed out on the edges. The black in this image stands out very strongly and basically helps form the shapes of the white letters.  When creating this image I had to find a way to create the letters while also making the shape of lips.  I curved my letters in a specific way in order to successfully create this image.

                                                               DESIGN STAGES
Audience: The audience viewing this are the viewers on my blog such as, students of the classroom and my professor.  Also, possibly any other viewers who happen to read my blog.

 Utilizing Gestalt:
I feel after working not his assignment that Gestalt is a great form of art.  At first I had no idea what Gestalt even was.  After my first couple of trails when working on Gestalt I became frustrated.  Gestalt was hard in the sense that it really made you think critically about how you can use shapes and different illusions to create an image just by using letters.  When I felt that a Gestalt image was complete, there was always more that I could be adding to it.  I feel gestalt has opened up my creative mind and I see myself using it in the future on other projects.  Gestalt has definitely taught me new ways of art and I could possibly use this professionally in the future.

Summary:
Gestalt was a difficult assignment but i definitely learned a lot of life skills from it.  This assignment has helped open up my creative mind and learn to take risks and keep trying to better my work.

High Quality RGB Converted to Vector

In order to get a better vector form from photoshop is to go into image trace and select high fidelity.  By selecting high fidelity, the image will sharpen.

Raster RGB and INDEXED Increased Resolution Quality Comparison

The first image is INDEXED. The image quality became more pixelated than the RGB image.

This image is much mire smoother than the other image. This image is saved under RGB which made the image quality better.

Critique: The colors used in this drawing are very striking in color.  The vibrance of the colors contrast each other very beautifully.  The purple color overlaps the hot pink base color.  Although the hot pink falls more into a background color, it stands out over the purple.  Within this drawing is the figure of a woman who is shadow like.  The figure of this woman is what catches my attention most about this drawing.  If a story were to be created about this story. it would be about female empowerment.  I see a woman standing amongst other colors that are very strong in appearance but yet the woman is what catches the attention.  This drawing symbolizes a woman and her confidence she carries, even when standing alone or against others.

Critique: Within this image there are multiple colors that stand out.  At first glance I instantly see orange, blue and pink.  When i look at this image i can see a lot of different personalities through each color.  I can somewhat see a story through this image.  There is a brown color that peaks through the right center of the image.  This brown also has an over lap over what looks like tire tracks.  I see this image as tire marks in an area of dirt.  The colors being used are more dull than vibrant, compared to the other photo.

Vector File Size Comparison

In this first image, it consists of only 2 anchor points.  This image is a line that has been curved across that page.  The AI file size of this image is 1,599,307 bytes

In this second image it is a complex image. In this photo there are a lot of points. A complex image consists of many more points than a simple image. The file size of this image is 8,018,267 bytes.
In this third image, it is a simple image. Within the simple image, there are fewer points then a complex image. The file size is 1,599,307 bytes.

Vector Logo

For the Apple logo, I chose a high fidelity as the image trace.  This setting changed the image but kept the appearance the same as the RASTER.

For the Batman logo, I chose a high fidelity as the image trace.  This image did not change much at all in its appearance.

For the Firefox Search Engine logo, I chose a high fidelity as well as the other two images that are listed above.  This image also did not change much in its appearance and stayed close to the original image's appearance.

For the Sony logo, this image was the most difficult out of the four images listed.  For this image I chose a 16 color setting.  This setting was the closest to the original image.  Although this image does not look very smooth, it came closest to the original photo.
